Batch geocoding tool
Paste a list of addresses or coordinates, one per line, and get latitude and longitude for every row. Up to 100 lines per run, CSV download included.

Getting clean results
- One location per line. Put the full address on a single line: number, street, city, postcode, country.
- Add the country for anything ambiguous. “Paris” alone matches Paris, France; “Paris, Texas” needs the state.
- Landmarks work too: “Sydney Opera House” resolves fine.
- Coordinates on a line are reverse geocoded, so you can mix both directions in one list.
- Messy exports from CRMs or emails (with names, phone numbers, notes) are what the AI tidy step is for. Review its output, then geocode.
Privacy and fair use
Addresses go straight from your browser to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service, one per second, following its usage policy. CoordKit does not store them. Your pasted list is kept only in this browser so it survives a reload; clear it on the privacy page. The AI tidy step sends up to 50 lines to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway, only when you press the button.
Single address? Use the coordinates finder. Need the coordinates in another format? The coordinate converter handles DMS, UTM and MGRS.
Frequently asked questions
What is batch geocoding?
Converting a whole list of addresses into latitude and longitude in one go, instead of looking them up one at a time. It is the first step for mapping customers, planning deliveries or analysing locations in a spreadsheet.
Is this batch geocoder free?
Yes. You can geocode up to 100 lines per run. Lookups use OpenStreetMap’s free Nominatim service, which allows one request per second, so 100 addresses take about two minutes. For tens of thousands of rows, use a commercial geocoding API.
Can it do reverse geocoding in bulk?
Yes. Any line that looks like a coordinate pair (for example 51.5007, -0.1246) is reverse geocoded to an address instead.
What does “Tidy with AI” do?
Messy lists often contain names, phone numbers, notes and typos that confuse geocoders. The AI step rewrites each line into a clean address query without inventing anything, and you can review and edit the result before geocoding. Your lines are sent to the AI model only when you press the button.
How accurate are the results?
Full street addresses usually resolve to the building or street. Postcodes and city names resolve to the centre of that area. Check the “match” column: it shows exactly what each line was matched to.
